Adult Youth Facilitator
Training
A program to develop adult supervisory skills in dealing with youth, with
particular interest in fostering their spiritual development. Some of the
training modules offered include:
-
Coaching and Mentoring for Youth Leadership. The normal tendency for
adult involvement in youth programs is to "parent" their activities. This
module raises the awareness of the "parenting" paradigm and helps develop
coaching and mentoring skills.

talents get immediate attention. This module teaches adults to use reflective
skills and peer consulting as tools in assessing and nurturing latent talents
of young leaders.
-
Filling the Key Gaps (Church, Home School). Using gap analysis techniques,
adults conduct a comprehensive assessment of youth group member
circumstances and search for key missing elements in the formation of
youth. This module is particularly important in determining optimal use of
limited resources and in formulating youth ministry strategies.
-
Keeping a Spiritual Focus as Corner Stone. Foundational concpets of
spirituality and youth interests. Highlights the relevance of adult spiritual
depth in mentoring and coaching youth leaders. Comprehensive use of the iSAS
as a tool for self and for others.

elicit participation in adult facilitated projects. Emphasis on activity
design, planning, performance, and assessments. Three case studies discussed
include a one day youth activity, a youth trip, and a three day retreat.
Each participant is expected to desigh, and plan a series of notional activities.
-

happens naturally, yet an essential part of of spiritual formation relies
on community life. Many individual, situational, contextual and relational
